Cannot access Newsstand store on iPad

After updating my iPad to iOS 5, I can't access the Newsstand store. I had it all installed correctly, but the "Store" button is always greyed out. There is only the New York Times in the library and I cann't add others to the newsstand app.If you have the same issue, press the home and hold buttons at the same time for shutting down, and then hold the button again until the apple logo appears.
