Haypi Kingdom - Alliance War Strategy

Haypi Kingdom - Alliance War Strategy

Do you know the system will not allow you to attack with fewer than 1/3 of the opponent's troops in the mine?

By sending increments of 10k catapults until you are able to successful send out the attack. Then call back your troops. Multiply the amount by 3.

E.g. 10k (unable), 20k (unable), ..., 120k (success!), call back. You will know that the mine contains between 330k to 360k troops. Attack with 480k catapults, which is a 1/3 advantage over them. You will win with 1/4 troop loses, take the mine with 360k catapults left to defend the mine.

Haypi Kingdom - Advance Tips Prestige

Haypi Kingdom - Advance Tips Prestige

After you fully upgraded your cities and turrets/traps, what's next? You cannot proceed further to kill open troops to get more prestige as everyone is just as experienced as you and doing the same thing, hunting.

So, you build troops for prestige and send them on suicidal missions to high level forts if there are a lot of troops to feed or level 9 oasis if your troops are few. A buddy from Ancients told me that a good player can gain 20-27k/day of prestige by just building troops and killing them afterwards as it depletes food. - Credits to SevenX

You can buy wood from the market when it reaches 0.01 and build catapults. Definitely saves you time. Just occupy the most expensive resource oasis in the market which usually will be crop.

Haypi Kingdom - Advance Tips Swapping Crop Oasis & Poll Results

Haypi Kingdom - Advance Tips Swapping Crop Oasis & Poll Results

Your Haypi Kingdom troops?

63% uses Catapults/Infantry
13% uses Cavalry/Archers
13% uses Others
9% uses Cavalry

I was pretty surprised at the results.

Why?

After the servers merged, crop oasis are far fewer and beyond. Speed is probably the ultimate deciding factor as occupying crop oasis, farming forts, raiding inactive cities and killing open troops for prestige became even more dependent on SPEED. Unless you have the coins to warp, Catapults/Infantry combo is just too slow to make it.

Now, the advance tip for swapping crop oasis.

  1. Splitting Catapults into 2 Groups - Ideally, you can release your crop oasis before 24 hours when they drop a level and have about 2k catapults split into two groups (1k each) to retake 2 crop oasis simultaneously. This will cut down your time in half. However, there is the danger of another player simultaneously occupying with cavalry/archer combo and killing your troops (bug). Bring along infantry, but if the player has a large force, it does not help much.
  2. Secondary/Alternate Account - Credits to Zygron. Main account, call back all troops guarding your crop oasis (see earlier post on guarding your crop oasis with 9 catapults or cavalry). Use an alternate account, quit the alliance, occupy your main account's crop oasis with 1 cavalry, launch 2 attacks simultaneously, 3 if you have VIP, call back the cavalry after occupying. Main account reoccupy with 9 cavalry. Alternate account rejoin back alliance. All in half an hour flat.

Haypi Kingdom - Honor and Ethics

Haypi Kingdom - Honor and Ethics

I have been playing Haypi Kingdom for quite a while, now level 16 after the server merge. I like to thank all of you that referred me when you registered.

However, I just have to re-iterate here that all the basic war tactics, military and economic strategies I have shared with you boils down to a bottom-line.

Honor and Ethics.

If all the things that you have learnt did not make you a better player, when I meant better I meant in terms of values, then I have failed in my mission to make you a better player. All the things you have learnt from my blog can be washed down the drain and thrown into the trash.

You can say that this is a war game which is true, but it does not mean that honor and ethics need not be observed. It is these values that make the game much more enjoyable for everyone. There is largely a difference between "Tactics" and "No Ethics".

  1. Tactic - Attacking a player's crop oasis to force the player back from hunt to retake oasis, warp beside the player's city and attack the troops for prestige. Thereafter, whether failure or success, move on.
No Ethics - Attacking a player's crop oasis without the intended purpose of attacking the player's troops for prestige. Continuously do that day and night as there is no 5x limit for crop oasis with the intent to starve the player.
  2. Tactic - Taking over a player's fort near his main city. Releasing thereafter for everyone to farm.
No Ethics - Stealing a player's high level fort for yourself when the ability to take the level is not there
  3. Tactic - Precision strikes at the city with troops out. If the player hunted in time, you can either wait 20 turns or just limit your attack to that.
No Ethics - Repeatedly farm a player up to 5x a day, even obviously the player has no troops out. Thereby, stunting the growth of a much lower level player and possibly causing him to quit.

There, I got it off my chest.

Now, on a lighter note, I will be covering more on advance tactics and strategies and labeling them war and economy so that the posts are more organized.

Haypi Kingdom - Tips 2

Haypi Kingdom iPhone Tips 2

  1. When under Attack - You CANNOT TRANSPORT OUT or SELL your resources at the market. However, you CAN TRANSPORT IN or BUY resources from the market. If the attack is far away, maximize your upgrades or use coins to speed up upgrades. Build troops to deplete the resources and hunt if you have enough resources or send to other cities to hunt. Build and upgrade traps. All in the effort of bringing the amount of resources below the cranny.
  2. Cranny - Do NOT wait until you are under attack, then you start to upgrade your cranny. It is too late! Do it whenever you can. Especially if you have not enough resources to upgrade the resources production, as cranny is cheap to upgrade anyway (just takes time).
  3. Hidden Attacks - Although you cannot see it from the console screen or the alarm does not sound off, you can spot it from the Actions button. The troops will only show ??? However, if it is an oasis or sub-city attack, no harm sending/having 1 to 10 catapults to defend. If it is a main city attack, look at point "When under attack"
  4. Cavalry and Archer Blocking Technique - One turn before the infantry hits the backlines, march forward one cavalry. Then on next turn, march forward one archer. Gives you TWO extra turns for your range units. If it is the enemy's cavalry charging, your cavalry has to be faster in speed to delay them, or you can use the catapult retreating technique.
  5. <.p>

  6. Catapult Retreating Technique - Move forward 1 turn (or 2 depending on the cavalry movement speed). Just before the cavalry hits your catapult(s), move back. The cavalry will stop at where the catapults were before and miss the attack giving at extra turn for the catapult to attack at a range
  7. Usage of Cavalry and Archers - Cavalry absorb the punishment. Archers target at where the MEAT is. The catapults.

Haypi Kingdom - PvP has Started!

I am going in this round. Wish me luck.

Mistakes Made
Upgraded Main Building first, 0 stone left - Should follow tasks and collect rewards accordingly, upgrade crop...

Used up all coins to buy Lvl 15 horse, manual, sword, armor - Level 15 horse should be good enough. If you buy coins, then Lvl 15 manual. The rest can be purchased from the market when you are winning.

Used VIP immediately - Should use it later. No resources for 3 slots anyway. Should use VIP later when resources become abundant.

Lost units during initial oasis take down as the lag was so bad that commanding was impossible - Should just take a lower level oasis or waited until the next day when response was better.

Things Done Right
Sped up upgrades of Main Building & Warehouse to 20K.

Only upgraded crops, Main Building & Warehouse to 20K.

Build cats to take approriate level of oasis successfully later.

Took risks to raid other player's level 9 crops.

Upgraded cranny (may be useful later)

What I have Learnt
Upgrade Marching, Shooting Tech to the highest if you have the money.

Assign attribute points to Break Cranny initially, and Hidden Attack later.

Cavalry, Archer Blocking Technique.

Negative Food. Just sustain with your reserves until you can get enough food production again or raid someone or buy from market.

Only Main, crop and warehouse (can't remember Barracks) gives prestige.

Steal other Sub-cities - A veteran shared that he only built one sub. No point building, stealing is faster.

Use coins to build cats, inf until you can level.

Alliances, Things Change - I got booted out from one of the high flying alliances when I cannot level fast enough. My other alliance member got booted out and worse, got attacked by the alliance leader. To each its own in PvP, unlike the usual Haypi Kingdom where loyalty is important. You do not get prizes for top alliances anyway. Perhaps some advertisement for your alliance in your main usual game...

Conclusion
Remember, this is a 14 day contest, not a 1 day contest. Pace yourself with the coins. And be vigilant on hunting (they said 30s max)

Haypi Kingdom - Tips

Haypi Kingdom iPhone Tips

  1. Hide your troops by hunting before going offline.
  2. Maximize your resources by upgrading. Hide your resources by selling highest at the market (need people). You can cancel them anytime and get them back (NOT the people). Of course upgrade your cranny (that may not help much due to repeated attacks)
  3. Command your troops when attacking / defending(if you are online). Never leave them unattended.
  4. You cannot attack a city/sub-city more than 5 times a day. Each consecutive attack in progress gets longer and longer... I believe it is 1/2 hr added on per consecutive attack.
  5. You can only take over a sub-city
  6. You need to attack a sub-city 10 times consecutively to bring the loyalty down from 100 to 0 to take over the sub-city. So refer to point one, you will need at least 2 alliance members to take down a sub-city in a day.
  7. After 20 rounds of battle and you are still unable to win the battle e.g. troops, traps or catapults left by the enemy, you lose the battle.
  8. Before the oasis level down after 24 hrs, resign and re-occupy it to renew the 24 hrs lease. Esp. those just beside you.
  9. You can occupy an enemy's high level oasis easily if it has no troops. So leave at least 1 catapult for your own and use 1 cavalry to strike
  10. Use pure cavalry to farm inactives, cuts down half the time (faster with horse treasure). At least 32 cavalry for level zeros.
  11. You can have more than 1 vice-leader - credits to Toph
  12. You can only recall your oasis troops from the city/sub-city you sent.

Technical Advice

  1. Use wireless when attacking.
  2. Before marching to a super major battle, restart your iPhone to clear off the memory, use wireless and ensure that block of time is undisturbed. Else postpone the major battle until you are absolutely ready. You do not want your troops marching to their death...

Haypi Kingdom - Alliance Teamwork (Updates)

I have been thinking of how to leverage the teamwork of the alliance by each concentrating to specialise in a specific area instead of being a jack of all trades, but a master of none.

ROLE

Scout/Recruiter
Provide intelligence and increase ally members. Upgrade scouting skills to the highest. Small packs of cavalry. Find out how many troops in the city or sub-city accurately. Map out the location of forts as levels do not change, especially low level forts in the initial stage. Raid inactives. Income to upgrade scouting skills has to be provided by attackers and defenders. Identify and recruit active members.
Requirements
Levels: 0-3
Army: Small
Primary defense: Alliance protection
Primary army upgrade: Speed
Primary income: Raid inactives/defenders & attackers buy highest or other members treasures at a preset number at the market
Online: Low

Defender/Hunter (Updates)
Cash cow. Upgrade static defense such as Traps (lvl 1-8), Turrets (lvl 9-10) to fend off enemies. Keep on upgrading resources output. Primarily statics for defense. Large army of infantry to farm for gold and treasure. Initial capital income and oasis provided by attackers. Later stages, huge army of infantry to hunt. Steady stream of income to buy treasures to upgrade to pull up the team.
Requirements
Levels: 4-6
Army: Large army of Infantry for Hunting
Primary defense: Static
Primary army upgrade: Speed/Attack
Primary income: Oasis and forts from attackers
Online: Medium

Attacker
Protect alliance, starve strong alliances, raid cities, take-over sub-cities/enemies' oasis, fort farming, provide income to defenders/traders to generate even more income.
Requirements
Levels: >= 6
Army: Large - enough to farm fort (read fort farming guide)
Primary defense: Traps
Primary offense: Catapults/Infrantry (early), Cavalry/Archers (later)
Primary army upgrade: Speed/Defense
Primary income: Raid inactives/farm forts/attack cities/take over sub-cities
Online: High

Do not under-estimate the scouts. The success of an ally depends heavily on intelligence, the number of active members and of course TEAMWORK.

DO NOT occupy the fort. I believe it is a measly $20/hr/lvl.

After destruction of turrets and traps, if you do not occupy it by attacking it 3 times consecutively, it will not regenerate. However, if you occupy it after 3 consecutive attacks and resign, the turrets and traps will be regenerated.

Haypi Kingdom - Guide to prevent being farmed

One of the most frustrating thing that can happen to you is getting your entire army of troops wiped out by a high level player or good teamwork by other strong alliances (fair enough).

It is OK to lose resources. But losing your entire army as well means you have to rebuild your army as your oasis levels lower everyday. You have to rebuild your army then, re-occupy the oasis again. Double whammy.

Tips to prevent being farmed
  1. Join an/their Alliance - I do not attack people with Alliance yet
  2. Level Up - Shows you are active. However, it can be a double-edged sword as high level players may prey on you for prestige.
  3. Go Hunting - Hide your troops by hunting before going offline
  4. Use up your Resources - Maximize your available resources by upgrading. Upgrade your Cranny (it's cheap anyway).
  5. Sell Highest at Market - Sell your resources at the market with the highest price. You can cancel them anytime to get them back. You will need people.
  6. Build Traps - Deterence, I am active. Besides, you can net some catapults if they attack with no infantry
  7. Write a letter - Most people are cool. At least they know you are active
If you can protect yourself, then you can level up...

Haypi Kingdom - Fort Farming

Fortified Point - credits to MrSevenX

Legend:

Level: The level of the fort
Cats: Catapults needed to win
Resources: the total about of each resources each fort holds
Infantry: infantry needed to take all resources in one attack
*cats: the fort has catapults as well!

Forts
Lvl - cats - resources - infantry - *cats
1 - 215 - 50k - 2000
2 - 428 - 60k - 3000
3 - 855 - 80k - 4000
4 - 1410 - 100k - 5000
5 - 2170 - 130k - 6500
6 - 3782 - 160k - 8000 - *20
7 - 6255 - 200k - 10000 - *50
8 - 8708 - 300k - 15000 - *80
9 - 14115 - 400k - 20000 - *150
10 - 19830 - 500k - 25000 - *300

*Numbers based on the "10% Rule"*

NOTE: when farming I find the best way is to command all your troops to "wait" from round 1, if you have the recommended amount of catapults, they will be able to kill them with no losses.

Sequence to attack (Wait all the way, except if only cats left)

1. Cav (they should all die, else round 2 is also cav)
2. Inf (surprised? archers not in range yet)
3. Archers
4. Inf/Cats (depending on shooting tech, anyway if you target cats and they are not in range, it will automatically attack Inf)
5. Inf (if there are no cats left)

Remember: every major title upgrade, or every 3 levels, you can hold 1 more sub city and 1 more fort, also, the amount of oasis you can hold is: Your level divided by 2 and rounded up if needed.

Haypi Kingdom - Troops

DEFENDERS
ATTACKERS

Put it simply, the attack of the archers are reduced to 1/5 when attacking the turret.

The attack of the long range troop is reduced to 1/4 in a melee battle.

I believe you cannot attack a trap, so the trap column should be dashes (-) as well. However, the trap can "attack" the troops as the troops need to sacrifice themselves to disarm them.

Oasis Level 1: 9-9-0-0
Cats to beat: 8

Oasis Level 2: 24-9-0-0
Cats to beat: 8

Oasis Level 3: 49-24-9-0
Cats to beat: 18

Oasis Level 4: 99-24-9-0
Cats to beat: 26

Oasis Level 5: 249-49-24-9
Cats to beat: 52 (Shooting Tech 1+)

Oasis Level 6: 499-49-24-24
Cats to beat: 87 (Shooting Tech 1+)

Oasis Level 7: 999-99-49-49
Cats to beat: 170 (Shooting Tech 1+)

Oasis Level 8: 2499-99-49-99
Cats to beat: 255 (Shooting Tech 4+)

Oasis Level 9: 4999-499-99-249
Cats to beat: 505 (Shooting Tech 8+) OR 750 (Shooting Tech 4+)

These are the proper maxes and the recommended minimum I would take to ensure 0 losses.

Personal Experience

Oasis Level 1: 9-6-0-0
Cats to beat: 6 (Shooting Tech 1+)

Oasis Level 3: 49-19-9-0
Cats to beat: 13 (Shooting Tech 1+)

Oasis Level 4: 99-24-9-0
Cats to beat: 25 (Shooting Tech 1+)

About 1 catapult for 1 cavalry. Need to take down cavalry preferably in 2 turns. Another trick is to move catapult forward once and attack. Next, wait and attack. Just before the cavalry reach, move back and attack. If archers are going to come within range, move back and attack. You may be able to use fewer catapults.

Oasis Income - credits to Rouge17

Starting at level one: 100 / 200 / 350 / 550 / 850 / 1250 / 1900 / 2700 / 3700 and the rare level 10 oasis is 5000 per hour
