Disable iPod "Now Playing" on iPad

I have set up an iPad running iOS 4.2 for an older person, but some features aren't intuitive for he. After he select a song in the iPod app, the "Now Playing:" box will appear. iPod app music scrolling issue on iPad 2

My iPad 2 has got music scrolling issue. The playlists are listed on the side bar of iPod app. When I try to scroll to the bottom in landscape playlists it jumps to the top. So I can only select down to the 6th playlist. And the now playing icon doesn't play well with the playlists.I think it's a bug in the UI of the iPod app. Anyone else have a workaround?
